Practice Highlights

  • The Firm successfully served as counsel before the Board(s) of Equalization for a major time-share/hotel client saving the client millions of dollars in property tax savings.
  • The Firm successfully obtained STAR bonds approval for a major sporting goods chain in Reno, Nevada (the first to obtain STAR bonds financing in Reno).
  • Obtained the dismissal of complaints filed with the Labor Commissioner for major construction projects.
  • The Firm represented one of the largest Demand Response companies in the world during the Integrated Resource Plan of a major Nevada energy utility.
  • Successfully litigated interconnection disputes before the Nevada Public Utilities Commission for several major competitive telecommunications carriers.
  • The Firm obtained the highest scores for application of ARRA funds for a Clark County public entity.
  • Assisted a Northern Nevada county with flood control issues, with the formation of a new joint powers authority and with ratemaking issues related thereto.
  • Assisted clients in maintaining a significant amount of ground water rights located in the Las Vegas Valley groundwater basin.
  • Served as counsel to a publicly traded property management company with respect to the maintenance and development of water resources located in Washoe County, Nevada and valued in excess of $4 million.
  • The Firm provided legal support, in terms of water rights and regulatory matters, to a central Nevada water and sewer utility company.
  • Served as litigation counsel for a northern Nevada developer and obtained an order from the district court vacating a forfeiture of water rights issued by the State Engineer.
